Strangers in the White Tent

I will be honest. I am not an avid reader of your publication but am a believer in the foundation and purpose of it. Generally, I may seem like someone who has no interest or belief in a consciousness beyond the individual or corporate world I traverse, but thankfully that is not the case.

Ignorance can be a sad state of affairs and I am not looking to be “saved” regardless. The truth comes to us all when we least expect it and if you have an open heart and soul, then you will find it or most likely, it will find you. Also, it does not live in the mind, which is usually the barrier with people I meet since it is what we were taught since birth.

Regardless, I am not writing this to explain my personal circumstance. I do want you to appreciate the impact Dan Simborg’s article has on people like myself who are comfortable in their conservative life, yet know there are tremendous experiences and spiritual acceptance outside of the pigeonhole we are placed in. In his article, Dan provided me a comfort to pursue my own personal journey with like-minded people…which leads me to Burning Man. To this point, I have not allowed myself to believe there are other people who share my/our collective purpose since the exposure in our day-to-day lives is lacking.

Dan not only outlined the purpose of Burning Man, but also gave me hope that other people (such as myself) will take the most important journey of their life to the desert where they will find the truth we all should share. I look forward to reading more about Dan’s perspective in the future. I hope to see you at BM 2007.

Rekindled Affinity for Print Magazines

Wow, another excellent issue of Conscious Choice. CC has become my new favorite publication. As an evolving human of 39, I find CC a refreshing and invigorating publication presenting the pressing issues and changes happening now, in our lives. Although I’ve migrated to a mostly net-based information exchange, CC has rekindled my affinity for the printed magazine. As a youth, it was Sports Illustrated, then as budding adulthood commenced, Mondo 2000 and Wired were beacons of the transformation of the coming millennium. Now, CC serves as the place I look to for cutting edge, relevant and important ideas, people and causes. I find myself inspired by both the content and the advertisers. Page after page, CC lays down ways to think better, live more positively and be more beautiful. Your remarkable publication is helping us prepare for the momentous changes afoot and around the bend. Also, your cover graphics this year have been excellent, thank you! Please keep it coming :)
