October 2007 | From the Editor
So Long, Conscious Choice
I am writing this, my final dispatch, from the comfortable confines of my home a few weeks before this issue, my last, hits the streets. After returning from this year’s Burning Man, myself and Conscious Enlightenment Media parted ways. But as I sit here basking in the afterglow of a tremendous, life-altering week in Black Rock City, I had occasion to reflect on my year as the editor of this great and storied Chicago tradition.
The year I spent with Conscious Choice was an incredible experience. I have nothing but wonderful memories of what could quite possibly be the best year of my life. What we managed to create in that brief time was truly special, and I have nothing but gratitude and love for the experiences and opportunities it afforded me. I met some amazing people in my travels as Editorial Director of CE Media as well, and I made bonds that will last forever.
One of those profound connections was with my dear friend, author Daniel Pinchbeck, who writes the exclusive “Prophet Motive” column for the CE family of magazines. I am proud to announce I will be joining forces with him in the Evolver/Reality Sandwich project as the new Editor-in-Chief. I am honored to be working side by side with one of the finest minds of our generation, and I encourage you to catch up with me there.
I also intend to study sacred activism with Andrew Harvey as one of the first 50 students he will be training at his new school for Sacred Activism. This is an extraordinary opportunity, one that simply fell on me out of the ether when I attended the annual IONS conference last month before the Burn.
Where my path will take me, I do not as yet know. But I know I am in the flow, and all of you helped me get and stay here, and for that I am eternally grateful, particularly for all your readers out there who took the time to read and respond to my work. You are the lifeblood of this publication.
Take care of yourself, and each other. I love you all, and thank you.

Clarification: In last month’s column, we mistakenly reported that Conscious Choice was “acquired” by Gaiam, a LOHAS lifestyle media company. That’s not exactly correct. Gaiam has invested in Conscious Enlightenment, the parent company of this magazine. Under the new investment, Conscious Choice will be partnering with Gaiam, green lifestyle website LIME and social change networking site Zaadz to create the new conscious media platform Gaia.com, launching soon. In turn, Gaiam and Co. will be supporting Conscious Choice to continue doing what CC does best — bringing you cutting edge content every month.
