Don’t just get mad... get active

Activism comes in all shapes and sizes. You don’t necessarily have to ignite your unmentionables outside the Republican National Convention or get hauled off to the pokey for being civilly disobedient (unless you feel like it, of course). These days, getting active could be as simple as getting online or dropping by the post office.

Freerice.com aims to alleviate world hunger and improve users’ language skills through a super fun online vocab game. For each word you get right, the United Nations donates ten grains of rice to help end world hunger.

To protest the Burmese junta, women throughout the world are sending packages to Burmese embassies containing “panties for peace.” Burma’s superstitious generals, according to Burmanet.org, believe that contact with any item of women’s wear deprives them of their power. Find your favorite Burmese embassy here and send your panties packing.
