The Indian Boundary Prairies

These prairies in Markham, Illinois comprise the largest remaining high-quality grassland in the state. With more butterflies and more plant diversity than almost any other prairie in Illinois, this cluster of four prairies in southern Cook County (the county of the city of Chicago) is a storehouse of genetic resources and a globally important natural asset.
